Sera Uzel, borned in Sivas in 1958. Painter father, brought together him with art. He made his first painting “Train Station” at the age of 4. During education years, he was more closer to painting. In 1984 he won a success at Vakko Painting exhibition. He made his first wall painting in 1987 in Ankara. In 1999 at Ankara the British Council Art Gallery, he realized three different painting works in front of viewers and press. He opened many solo exhibitions  and attended to artistic works from Istanbul to Kars.A bird sings on the hills where the King of Kaunos rests, maybe the King should tell us something… maybe we go over to the Three Kings; Hattusili, Pudehepa, IV.Tuthaliya, then eat and drink with Illuyanka and make her drunk.

I, Sera Uzel, the son of Memet, was born in Sivas on August 5, 1958, on the land of Anatolia which is surrounded by the halo of mystery and covered all around with secrets. I was acquainted with the art of painting during my childhood – thanks to my dad, Memet, the artist. I painted my first piece of art, “the train station”. I was only 4 years old; “It is not known why but this picture has been drawn from a bird’s-eye view.

I played with snow, I slide on ice, I grew up, up, up… I closed my eyes and looked at the black and white figures, I talked to God, I loved art and painted. I opened exhibitions in a lot of provinces from Istanbul to Kars. From now on, I am an artist in charge on his own lands…….

You can see the essential of my art in the faces of yesterday and today looking for immortality… you can surely see the rust and invisible heroes of the past as well. I draw myself and perhaps some of you in my paintings.

Sera Uzel, 1958 yılında Sivas’ta doğdu. Ressam olan babası, onu küçük yaşlarda resim sanatı ile buluşturdu. İlk resmi “Tren İstasyonu” çalışmasını dört yaşında yaptı. Eğitim yılları süresince resim sanatına daha fazla yakın oldu. 1984 yılında katıldığı Vakko Resim Yarışması’nda başarı kazandı. Ankara’da ilk duvar resmini 1987 yılında gerçekleştirdi. 1999′da Ankara The British Council Art Gallery’de üç ayrı resim çalışmasını izleyici ve basının katılımıyla doğaçlama olarak gerçekleştirdi.  Çırağan Palace Sanat Galerisi – İstanbul, Schneidertempel Sanat Merkezi – İstanbul, Gazi Ahmet Muhtar Paşa Konağı- Kars,  Bilkent Üniversitesi, Güzel Sanatlar, Tasarım ve Mimarlık Fakültesi – Ankara’da kişisel sergiler açtı ve sanatsal çalışmalara katıldı. 

Kaunos Kralı’nın yattığı tepelerden bir kuş ötüyor, kral belki de bize birşeyler söylemeli… belki Tanrılar Üçlüsü; Hattuşili, Pudehepa, IV.Tuthaliya’ya uzanırız, sonra İlluyanka ile yer, içer ve onu sarhoş ederiz.

Ben, Memet oğlu Sera Uzel,  Anadolu’nun gizem haresi ile çevrili her yanı sırlarla kaplı topraklarında,  5 Ağustos 1958 yılında doğdum. Çocukluk yıllarımda babam ressam – Memet sayesinde resim sanatı ile tanıştım. İlk resmim “tren istasyonu” çalışmasını yaptım.  Henüz 4 yaşındaydım; “Bu çocuk resmi, neden bilinmez, her şeye tepeden bakılarak yapılmıştır”. Karda oynadım, kızak kaydım, büyüdüm, büyüdüm, büyüdüm…

Gözlerimi kapayıp siyah beyaz suretlere baktım, Tanrı ile konuştum, sanatı sevdim resimler yaptım. İstanbul’dan Kars’a kadar bir çok sergiler açtım. Artık belki de bir ressamım ben…
